URL Redirection Service

ThingyURL.com is a 100% FREE URL redirection service. It makes that instantly forgettable long url into a short url which is easier to remember. If you want to create a short version of a website address then you can create a ThingyURL and pass this on to your customers, colleagues, friends etc. Any one can use the service and you don't have to be the owner of the site to create a ThingyURL for it. ThingyURLs come in two types. The first type is a URL redirection common on well known sites like tinyurl and shorturl. These offer URL redirection using an automatically generated name E.g. http://thingyurl.com/e5Rty. This is great to quickly shorten a URL and does not require registration. The second option is to use our free URL redirection service using your own names or aliases. This will enable you to generate a URL redirection with an easy to remember name or alias e.g. http://thingyurl.com/sport/football.

What Can ThingyUrl.com Do?

Firstly, you can you use it to automatically generate an alias - which is all that most URL redirection service providers like tinyurl give you. If you have a page which you frequently use but its website URL is long
e.g. http://www.sitewithlongname.com/pages/order.htm?d=f&x=22
you could shorten it to http://thingyurl.com/e5. Where e5 is a name (or alias) automatically generated by our system.

What Can ThingyUrl.com Do That's So Special that other URL redirection service providers don't do?

This is the clever stuff, it allows you to pick a main name (alias) and if you want, another alias, separated by a slash (/) (which you can repeat any number of times). This makes your favourite url's far more memorable and easier to pass on. This is unique amongst other URL redirection service providers. For example you could choose your alias as your own name e.g. John, Mary etc and then you could have a separate sub-alias for all your sites you would like to memorize E.g. photos, tv, resume, funny etc - you will find this a sinch to remember because they can be names that mean something to you.
e.g.

http://thingyurl.com/john/photos/baby
   (baby's photo album)

http://thingyurl.com/john/photos/family
   (family photo album)

http://thingyurl.com/john/blog
   (blog)

http://thingyurl.com/john/games
   (games page)

http://thingyurl.com/john/resume
   (resume or cv)

http://thingyurl.com/john/tv
   (tv listings)

Can I Use It For My Affiliate Sites?

Yes, this is an excellent reason to use thingyurl.com. Sometimes you don't want to make it obvious that you are an affiliate and if the url you need to use does not hide this from potential customers it can put them off. By using thingyurl.com, you can create a name that describes what you're selling and link directly to the affiliate url.
