If you want to create a short version of a website address then you can create a ThingyURL and pass this on to your customers, colleagues, friends etc. Any one can use the service and you don't have to be the owner of the site to create a ThingyURL for it. ThingyURLs come in two types. The first type is a URL redirection common on well known sites like tinyurl and shorturl. These offer URL redirection using an automatically generated name E.g. http://thingyurl.com/e5Rty. This is great to quickly shorten a URL and does not require registration.
